Eight people were killed and 12 injured, including three children, in a car crash on a highway west of Bucharest, Romanian media reported Tuesday.
A passenger car, a truck and a minibus were involved in the collision Monday night on the main highway leading from Bucharest to Pitesti, 55 miles northwest of the capital, Romania's Hotnews.ro reported.
It was one in a series of major road accidents in Romania this year.
Earlier this month, 13 people were killed and four injured when a bus and a minibus collided in eastern Romania.
About 5,000 people were killed and 11,000 hurt in accidents on Romanian roads in the past two years, Belgrade's Beta news agency said.
