Brunei Boat Racing Teams Ready For Sabah

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei's national boat racing teams are set to compete in the 21st Sabah Dragon Boat Race on June 18 at Likas Bay, Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.

This year's participation will be the country's 16th, having joined the race since 1991.

Other than two teams from Brunei, the event will see the participants from Malaysia as well as foreign countries.

Brunei's record in the competition has been impressive thus far, with the team snatching the championship eight times consecutively, from 1991- to 1998, as well as lifting the Tuan Yang Terutama Governor Sabah trophy.

The most recent win was in 2005, when the team took the top spot as well as another TuanYang Terutama Governor Sabah trophy. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
